THE BiO:
Von Hyder began with Heidi Terry and Larissa Clayton working up the courage to play Heidi’s original numbers in acoustic form to the unforgiving Melbourne rock scene. They figured what they lacked as virtuoso guitarists, they could make up for with swirling, captivating harmonies and songs that evolved from real people with real stories.

They were right.

Sure enough the girls, going by the name of ‘Hide and Cheek’ were developing a bit of a following. What next? What else? They wanted a band. A real rock band with the ability to lift the songs, rather than bury them in a heavy metal thunder. Along came Bassist Stuart Donaldson and Drummer Darren McCarthy. A rhythm section with swing, groove, rock and feel. If those words don’t mean anything to you then you may need to see an exorcist.

Along with the appropriately named guitarist 'Strat', Von Hyder recoded and released released an independent 5-track EP. If you have one of the last remaining copies in your possession, consider yourself lucky, as it has sold out and will not be reproduced. Since then they performed 30 live shows in Melbourne, most notably at the Armadale where they had 150 people at their CD launch, the Noise bar, where over 200 people came to see the show recorded for Noise TV, and Brocky’s Big Day Out in Hurstbridge to an audience of over a thousand.

Now after a hiatus to refresh and renew, Von Hyder are back with new drummer Rory Ramone-Von Hyder, along with our baby Sarah Von Hyder on the keys, with a fist full of new songs for the eager punters....
